The Facebook Pay Per Click Tracking Pixel is an integral part of your marketing funnel and your FB PPC marketing campaigns.

This pixel allows you to track the effectiveness of your campaigns and to also create custom audiences based on the people who reach your site and take specific actions.

I have updated this video as I’m now using the ‘Custom Conversion’ functionality in the Facebook ads manager and not the ‘Event Tracking’ option anymore.

You can see the updated video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jOWKaZ3fzx4

You can then remarket to these people with retargeting ads or you are able to create look alike audiences to build your potential audience with more relevant people.

If you want to see how to create a look alike audience, go here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TsAXytrGwtg

You need to have this pixel installed before you begin your Pay Per Click campaigns on Facebook because this is how you track your effectiveness.

What you don’t measure you can’t improve… And this is the measuring stick!

This first video in the two-part series is all about the Facebook Base Tracking Pixel.

In the next video you will learn how to setup the event tracking with the pixel.

The event tracking allows you to track the number of leads your ads and marketing funnels generate, the number of customers, how many people add your product to the cart, etc.

  1. I'm on wordpress using thrive themes but for some reason i'm not seeing the "Theme Options" selection. I' only seeing thrive dashboard, license manager, and general settings. Can't seem to find it anywhere.

  2. I love your videos! I do have a question! I've been trying to install the pixel into Shopify and I just added it to the admin section, just the ID. I launched a FB campaign but now it's not showing the CPC stats in my ads manager. Did I not install the pixel correctly?

  3. How do you use Pixel if you are using a site like TeeSpring? I know some people say that TeeSpring has peaked a few years ago but I feel like if you can find a super great niche you can still do well.

  4. What is the difference between these pixels and custom conversion tracking? It is unfortunate that you can only have 20 pixels per account and cannot delete whereas you can have up to 40 and can delete anytime for custom conversion tracking?

  5. Miles… Again, great videos! Do you use Google Tag Manager? If so.. could be a great topic!! If not, why not? Some people say that Google Tag Manager is better for pixels and such because it does not need coding and all those pixels could slow down your website.. I am not sure. What do you think? Keep up the good work… CHEERS

  6. Hey Miles. Is it possible to direct facebook ads directly to my friends on Facebook. If possible would I have to do that from my personal page? I have a biz page and personal page but prefer to do ads from my biz page. I assume this would mean installing pixel tracking from both my personal and biz page to my website. Seems a little redundant but is it possible.

  7. Hey miles, thanks for the videos and I must confess ,it's really helping but I'm still struggling, in fact no going back :)…My webpage don't have the <Head> space for me to install the pixel. and after several struggles and not get it I get tired and waste a lot of my time… or should I just use an "Integration or tag manager "option which i think it's the fb auto placement to double ones expenses like you've rightly mentioned… I feel stuck without knowing that stuff please help and thanks

  8. Miles,

Does this tracking code interfere with Google's? It appears to be placed in the same area (the header). I already have installed Google's code as part of an Adwords campaign I once ran. Would like to try FB advertising, but won't (or won't install FB tracking) if it interferes with Google code.

  9. Miles, I have no option to create a pixel. Yes, I'm in the correct place. I've tried different browsers also. I have created, own, and I'm the only admin for several FB pages but I'm simply not given the option to add a pixel. What might be wrong? I've spent the past 2 hours trying to figure it out and I'm at the end of my tether!!! Please help.

  10. Hey Miles. Great stuff. On of my ClickFunnels funnel has 6 steps: optin, VSL sales page, Thankyou/Download page, etc. Does the main pixel code go in the header of each step, or just the first step in the funnel?
